Texas news, US news.

A Texas father’s charges were upgraded to murder more than a year after the death of his infant twin daughters.

Massail and Mirena Vega were 6-week-olds when they were found dead on October 4, 2023.

Their father, Fernando Vega, claimed that he left them with their grandmother as he drove the mother, Angelina Calderon, to work.

Vega claimed the infants were not breathing when he returned home and he performed CPR until police arrived.

Calderon admitted that she did not seek medical help for her ailing infants.

She and Vega were charged in April with two counts of injury to a child.

Vega’s charges have been upgraded to capital murder, court documents showed.
