2 men charged for beating sleeping homeless man to death in Brooklyn parking lot

Two suspects have been charged in connection to the fatal beating of a homeless man in a Brooklyn parking lot.

The incident occurred at around 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 when the unidentified assailants approached Cos Jervis Jonas Ajpuac, 38, and a 42-year-old man as they slept outside a supermarket.

The suspect pummeled the two men with metal pipes and a baseball bat killing Ajpuac and severely wounding his friend.

  • A store security worker said the suspect “just attacked them while they were sleeping” according to surveillance footage he had seen.

    He added that the four men were friends and would collect empty bottles and cans and cash them in at the supermarket.

    The suspects and victims would then drink beer together, the security worker said.

    A motive for the attack remains unclear. The suspects were charged with manslaughter.
