A missing Seattle woman was found deceased in a suitcase by officers clearing out a homeless encampment late last month.
37-year-old Shannon Marie Caslin Reeder went mysteriously missing in November of last year.
On Sept. 27, Washington State Police found her body inside a large suitcase in the homeless encampment.
“State and local workers and local non-profits were assisting encampment residents and clearing the site of debris when the startling discovery was made,” police said Friday.
Authorities launched a homicide investigation to determine when and how Reeder died.
“Shannon was silly, spontaneous, and carefree,” a friend said of the victim.
“A new lip gloss, new shoes and she was a happy girl.”
