An employee was fatally hit by a forklift at a Louisiana fertilizer plant Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said on Friday that the deadly incident occurred at around 1:45 p.m. at CF Industries nitrogen fertilizer complex in Donaldsonville.
Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre said the employee was struck by a forklift.

He refused first treatment at the scene and was rushed to a local hospital where he died.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with their family at this difficult time,” the company said.
“We are committed to supporting the family as well as providing assistance to the Donaldsonville team.”
