Woman charged in fatal shooting outside Annapolis shopping center

An Annapolis woman is behind bars facing murder charges over a fatal shooting outside a local shopping center.

Monet Thompson, 49, is accused of gunning down 59-year-old Allison Faye McIntyre inside her car on Thursday.

Thompson was caught on video footage from a transit bus parked at the scene getting into McIntyre's vehicle.

The vehicle drove towards the entrance of the parking lot before suddenly stopping.

  • Thompson allegedly exited the cat and placed an item in her pocket before fleeing in her blue Toyota.

    Investigators believe the shooting was not random; Thompson was already on police’s radar in connection to another murder that occurred on September 26.

    “We are confident we got the right person,” Police Chief Edward Jackson said.

    “We will continue working with the State’s Attorney to prosecute the case to the fullest extent of the law.”
