A Texas woman was fatally shot by officers after she allegedly threatened to shoot people and cops and refused to comply with orders.
Plano officers responded to reports of a disturbance at an apartment complex on 14th Street near E Plano Parkway just before 5 p.m. Friday.
Once at the scene, the officers learned that an armed woman was threatening to shoot people and police.
The officers located the woman and began negotiating with her in the hope of de-escalating the situation.
Police said the woman refused to surrender and her behavior grew “increasingly erratic” leading officers to shoot her.
She was rushed to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Plano Police Department said that all the involved officers were placed on administrative leave as the investigation proceeds.
The woman’s identity was not immediately revealed.
