Missing Wisconsin woman’s body recovered from water: ‘It looked like it was indeed a person’

Authorities in Madison, Wisconsin are investigating the death of a woman who had vanished earlier this week.

Brooke Stratton’s body was recovered by an underwater recovery team following a tip.

The woman was last seen alive Monday morning walking in the area.

“A community member called in a tip saying that she thought she saw someone matching our missing person walking in this area,” police said.

    “We were able to use our drone to get above the water, and it looked like it was indeed a person.”

    An official identification is pending but investigators believe the body was Stratton.

    “It’s important to note that if you live in this area on Monroe Street and you have a Ring camera or you have a camera in your business, and you think you may have a vantage point, please let us know,”

    “Give us a call so we can come back and take a look at that, because we want to try to piece together what exactly happened here with this unfortunate death.”
