A worker at an Ohio water treatment plant was found floating face down in a water tank early Monday morning, officials said.
Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a body found in a tank at the Ottawa County Regional Water Treatment Plant at around 6:15 a.m.
Once at the scene, deputies found the body of Jeffrey Kukay floating in the tank.
The victim was wearing a safety harness attached to a safety line running down the middle of a ladder.
Kukay was reportedly a 20-year employee at the plant. He had worked by himself at the facility from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Foul play is not suspected in the death. A boiler advisor was issued to customers of the plant following the incident.
