California news, US news.

Two California dairy workers were infected with bird flu, amid an ongoing outbreak affecting the US’s dairy cows this year.

The cases raise the confirmed human cases to 16 nationwide and were linked to infected cattle in Central Valley where over 50 herds have been infected since August.

The infected workers developed conjunctivitis and mild symptoms.

Health officials said the two recent cases had no known link and were employed at different farms.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that more cases are “not expected” and that the risk to the community remains low.
