A professional Alabama skydiver died Friday while jumping in a wingsuit near a Utah summit, his family said.
Jonathan “Jonny” Bizilia, 27, died while base jumping near Willard Peak in Utah.

The Opelika native worked at Skydive Alabama in Cullman County and had made thousands of jumps at jump zones in Alabama, Utah, and Florida.
“He was a deeply principled young man, with a keen sense of right and wrong, a devotion to those he loved, and a stubbornness that was both admirable and at times, maddening,” his obituary read.
“Tough on the outside and fearless in the extreme, Jonny was a kind, tenderhearted soul who was moved easily to tears.”
