Authorities in Kansas have suspended mail delivery service in a Wichita neighborhood after a brutal attack on a postal carrier.
Two men allegedly assaulted the postal employee after launching two dogs at him on Sept. 21.
The man was brutally beaten and left with facial injuries but is expected to recover.
“Thankfully, our carrier is going to be OK,” said Paul Shade, a spokesperson and inspector for the U.S. Postal Service.
Police have yet to make an arrest in the case and therefore, postal services remain suspended in the neighborhood.
Residents of more than 40 affected addresses are asked to pick up their mail at local post offices, Shade said.
The mail stoppage will last until the case is resolved, the official added.
