Arrest made days after dismembered body of school custodian found near Michigan boat launch

A 40-year-old suspect has been arrested Wednesday in connection to the gruesome murder of a Michigan middle school custodian.

On Sept. 18, a girl found the severed foot of Justie Stilwell at the Edward Golson Boat Launch triggering a homicide investigation.

Police found the 41-year-old victim’s arms and legs nearby. Stilwell’s car was found at Dafoe Park by his family.

  • Investigators identified the victim through fingerprints. His severed head and torso were located at an undisclosed place in Bay City.

    Stilwell was reported missing on Sept. 18 when he failed to show up for work at T.L. Handy Middle School.

    His relationship to the suspect remains unclear.
