Shreveport officer killed; another clings to life after devastating crash

A Shreveport Police officer was killed and another is fighting for life after a devastating crash that occurred Friday afternoon.

Officer Matthew Rhoden, 37, was killed when his blue sports car struck the front of a van that suddenly turned into his path, officials said.

The accident occurred on West 70th at Broadacres shortly after 2 p.m. The injured officer was a passenger in the sports car.
