‘Far too many guns’: Shooting outside Cincinnati high school football game leaves student injured

An Ohio student was shot Friday evening outside a Cincinnati high school where a football game was taking place, authorities said.

Police in North College Hill said the gunfire erupted at around 8:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the stadium during a game between the North College Hill and Woodward High School teams.

The stadium was immediately evacuated and a student-athlete with gunshot wounds was rushed to a hospital.

    “I feel absolutely helpless, but I acknowledge that we cannot control the actions of those who choose to engage in harmful behavior,” North College Hill Principal Eugene Blalock Jr. said.

    “I live in North College Hill. It’s a great community, but there are far too many guns out here on the street.”
