4 killed in Labor Day shooting on Chicago train

Four people were fatally shot while riding a train in Chicago on Labor Day, authorities said.

Gunfire erupted on a Forest Park CTA Blue Line train when an armed person pulled out a gun and started firing at riders.

Police and first responders found four victims with gunshot wounds at the station.

  • Three victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. The fourth died at Loyola University Medical Center.

    The suspect, who took off leaving the gun behind before police arrived, was eventually arrested on a Pink Line train.

    “This appears to be an isolated incident with no immediate threat to the community,” Forest Park Police said.
