Arizona mother ‘cracked’ infant’s back before she died of brain injuries

An Arizona mother was charged with murder after she allegedly told detectives she performed a “back-cracking adjustment” on her 3-month-old daughter before her death.

On Monday, 26-year-old Wanda Jean Johnson was booked on one count of first-degree murder and one count of child abuse in connection to the March 13 death of her baby daughter.

The infant was brought to hospital in critical condition two days earlier after suffering seizures.

    While Johnson denied inflicting the injuries on her child, she admitted to performing a “back-cracking adjustment” on her and demonstrated the procedure on a doll.

    The mother said she had no “chiropractic training” and felt she was “probably reckless” during the process.

    Johnson added that she “did not mean to hurt” her daughter, She is being detained at a Maricopa County jail on a $1 million bond.
