A Rochester couple was arrested on manslaughter charges after their 3-month-old son died in a mauling incident, while they smoke marijuana.
Investigators said that on August 3, Sulamain Hawkins, and Anastasia Weaver, both 19, left their sleeping baby in an attic with two dogs at a Rochester home and went downstairs to smoke pot.
When the parents returned to the attic, they realized that the baby was mauled by at least one of the two dogs.
The baby succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His parents were arrested on Monday following an investigation involving Rochester Police, the Monroe County district attorney’s office, and the child protective services.
Authorities said the two dogs have since been euthanized.
