An Ohio boy was seriously injured after he was mauled by a dog while handcuffed to a bed, Ashland County authorities said.
Deputies responded to the Savannah home Saturday evening to find out that a pitbull had bitten a 6-year-old boy’s neck and ear.
A medical helicopter took the badly injured child to the hospital. On Monday, detectives confirmed that the mauling incident unfolded while the boy had handcuffs on his hands and feet.
Police said evidence at the scene supported their findings.
Robert Michalski, the owner of the dog and home, was found hiding in a “cubby hole” upstairs with the pit bull on Sunday.
He and Angelina Williams, the child’s mother, were arrested. Williams’ boyfriend, Taylor Marvin-Brown, was also accused of assisting in restraining the child.
The pit bull, deemed vicious, was taken into custody. Formal charges against the suspects were pending as of Wednesday morning.
