Az. man arrested for making death threats against Trump on day he visited southern border

An Arizona man was apprehended Thursday for making death threats against Donald Trump on the same day the former President visited the southern border.

Cochise County authorities said 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syvrud was busted during a traffic stop at around 2:30 p.m.

  • “As part of the operations plan in place for the visit of candidate Donald Trump on today’s date, locating this subject was a priority,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

    Syvrud also had several outstanding warrants in Wisconsin and Arizona including for driving under the influence, failure to appear in court, and a hit-and-run charge.
