An Ohio girl died from electrocution last weekend after she stepped barefoot into a wet yard outside her East Toledo home.
Olivia Bright, 17, was electrocuted at around 9 p.m. Sunday. She was in cardiac arrest when transported to a local hospital where she died shortly later.
First responders believe faulty wiring in an empty lot outside Bright’s residence and the wet ground caused the tragedy.
Olivia’s mom, however, still has doubts regarding her death.
“All I know is that Toledo Edison cleared my power, they cleared my electrical.” Kimberly Bright said.
“All I want to know is how my daughter passed – that’s the answer I want.”
Five years ago, the family lost Olivia’s brother to brain cancer. He was 11.
“It’s hard. Five-and-a-half years ago, I buried my son Brandon. He was the age 11. He died of glioblastoma,” the grieving mom said.
“Now I have to go and make arrangements for my daughter Olivia.”
