Parent forgets to drop off infant at day care; finds him dead in hot car hours later

A Louisiana baby is dead after his parent forgot to drop him off at a daycare and left him to die in a hot car Tuesday morning.

The parent did not realize the deadly mistake until around 5:46 p.m. when the 9-month-old boy was found unresponsive and called 911.

  • Police said the parent went to the daycare to retrieve the infant and was told the boy was not dropped off in the morning.

    Temperatures in Baton Rouge, Louisiana reached 94 degrees on Tuesday.

    An investigation into the incident is ongoing. It remains unclear whether charges have been filed.
