A Vermont baby has died last week after being left in a hot car, authorities said.
The incident unfolded Wednesday in the parking lot of a Milton business where an 18-month-old was found unresponsive in a hot car.
The baby was rushed to the University of Vermont Medical Center where they were declared dead.

“This is something that nobody thinks can happen to them until it does,” said Amber Rollins of the nonprofit Kids and Car Safety.
“If you got a lot of things going on and you jump in your car, autopilot kicks in.”
The toddler’s death marks the 16th pediatric vehicular heatstroke in the US this year.
