The human remains found at a Traverse City construction site last week belonged to the pre-modern era, authorities said.

The discovery was made at around 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Grandview Parkway construction site by construction workers who alerted the police.

Officials secured the site to preserve evidence and recovered the remains. On Tuesday, police posted an update about the finding.
