Chicago news, Illinois news.

Two women were killed and three children critically injured when gunmen from two vehicles stopped by their South Side Chicago residence and started shooting.

The victims were 22 and 42 years old, Chicago Deputy Chief Don Jerome said; the children were boys aged 5, 7, and 8.

The shooting occurred at around 6:15 a.m. Thursday in the Grand Crossing neighborhood and appeared to have stemmed from a personal dispute.

Jerome added that all the victims were inside the targeted residence and shell casings from a rifle and a handgun were recovered at the scene.
