Ogle County news, Illinois news.

Three Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies were shot and wounded Wednesday morning while responding to a home where an armed person made homicide and suicide threats.

The deputies arrived at the home at 8:30 a.m. shortly after receiving reports of a person who “had threatened not only suicide but homicide.”

“An excess of 50 phone calls were made in various forms to the residents with no answers,” Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said.

The department sent an emergency-response team into the residence to “determine the well-being of that individual.”
