Ohio woman arrested for allegedly forcing kids to stay in tub filled with hot water; causing severe burns

An Ohio woman is facing charges after she allegedly forced two kids to stay in a tub filled with hot water causing them severe burns.

Authorities were called to a Gallia County home Thursday evening over reports of a child suffering from a seizure.

First responders found out that a large part of the 5-year-old child’s body was covered with severe burns.

Deputies questioned 22-year-old Malynda Harrison over the child’s injuries and she admitted to forcibly keeping the child and a 4-year-old in a bathtub of hot water.

  • The woman allegedly refused to let the kids leave or lower the water temperature, police said.

    She also physically restrained the kids in the tub leading one of them to suffer seizures and second-degree burns.

    The younger child also suffered first-and second-degree burns.

    Harrison was arrested on child endangerment charges. A motive for her alleged act remains unclear.
