Ohio boy, 3, succumbs to injuries after he, mom stabbed outside grocery store

A 3-year-old boy in Ohio has succumbed to injuries he sustained Monday when he and his mother were stabbed at a Giant Eagle, authorities said.

The attack occurred in the grocery store's parking lot at around 3 p.m.

The toddler was identified as Julian Wood. The suspect was apprehended at the scene by North Olmsted Police officers who got a witness description.

The assailant was later identified as 32-year-old Bionca Ellis. She had previously been arrested for stealing a Walmart.

  • “Our hearts go out to the two victims of what appears to be a random act of violence,” Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones said.

    Giant Eagle issued a statement in connection to the incident.

    “We are aware of the reported incident and are working with the authorities,”

    “For the moment, they (the authorities) are the best source for information.”
