Man fatally struck by train at NYC subway station

No criminality is suspected in the death of a man who was fatally struck by a Midtown train in the early hours of Saturday.

The NYPD said that a southbound No. 7 train was entering the Grand Central-42nd St. Station at around 2:40 a.m. when its brakes were abruptly activated.

  • The motorman realized that something hit the wheels and stopped the train to check out only to find a deceased man on the tracks.

    He told detectives that he did not spot the man jumping onto the tracks leading authorities to the conclusion that the victim may have fallen while moving between train cars.

    The victim’s identity was not immediately revealed. The NYPD said that foul play was not involved in the tragic accident.
