A Kentucky woman was taken into custody Wednesday after police said she tried to flush an infant down a toilet at a Bowling Green restaurant.
Officers responded to reports of a bleeding woman in the bathroom of an IHOP. The 911 caller said the woman possibly miscarried.
A deceased infant was found in the toilet of the restaurant and multiple witnesses told cops the woman tried to flush the baby down the toilet.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Shaniqua Caldwell, was located in the parking lot of a nearby Red Roof Inn.
She reportedly admitted to being at the IHOP but denied being pregnant.
Caldwell was charged with concealing the birth of an infant. Additional charges are pending the infant’s autopsy results.
