Student in custody after making false bomb threat leading to evacuation of 2 Mississippi schools

A child was arrested in Senatobia, Mississippi Thursday after they allegedly made a false bomb threat leading to the evacuation of two local schools.

The Senatobia Municipal School District said in a statement that students were evacuated from Senatobia middle and high schools “out of an abundance of caution” and placed at the NWCC coliseum until the threat was cleared.

  • “All school buildings have been cleared of any threat. All students from the middle school and high school have returned to campus,” the statement read.

    The school district thanked all the agencies that responded to the false report including Senatobia Police and Fire Departments, Tate County Sheriff’s Department, and DeSoto and Southaven Police Departments.

    “It was truly a team effort today,” the statement added.
