A Florida child was found dead in a bedroom at his Orlando home Friday morning after missing school for two weeks, police said.
The 6-year-old was found deceased in a bedroom at a home on Bedford Drive at around 10 a.m. Friday. The death was deemed suspicious.
School officials requested a welfare check on the child who last attended classes on May 14.

St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputies went to the child’s home and encountered the mother, who led them to the body.
“This incident is being investigated as a suspicious death at this time,” the office said in a statement.
“The investigation is active and ongoing. There is no threat to the community.”
