A suspect took his own life after shooting dead a woman and another man during a dispute late Friday, police in Galveston County said.
Deputies responded to reports of the double murder-suicide at a home on Kirkpatrick Road in Gilchrist at around 11:30 p.m.
The bodies of the victims were found outside the residence, and a witness told deputies that the suspect took off in a white vehicle after shooting the pair dead.
Authorities in Chambers County located a vehicle matching the suspect’s car and gave chase.
After a brief chase, the suspect stopped on I-10, barricaded himself inside the vehicle, and refused to surrender.
The suspect ultimately turned the gun on himself and died at the scene. Identities of those involved were not immediately released.
