An Oklahoma father took his own life after murdering his 10-year-old autistic son and their dog inside their Broken Arrow home.
Rodney Shippy, 58, carried out the murder suicide this week as police searched for his missing 20-year-old daughter, Alyssa.
The father and son’s bodies were found inside their home on Wednesday, along with the decomposing remains of the missing daughter.
Family members said the children’s mother took her own life inside the home in August 2022.
“[Rodney] seemed to be holding it together months after [Lisa] passed, then he started estranging himself to everyone,” a relative said.
Videos from 10-year-old Logan’s YouTube showed the home in complete disarray, with trash littering the ground weeks before the tragedy.
“Logan was so smart, eager to learn, everyone who met him loved him. Alyssa was a bright light in this world. She had a beautiful life ahead of her, and I feel like their lives are stolen from them,” the relative added.
