An illegal immigrant was arrested in Chicago after he allegedly slaughtered his wife and tried decapitating her in front of their daughters earlier this week.
Baltazar Perez-Estrada, 33, surrendered to the Carol Stream Police Monday morning and admitted to “allegedly stabbing his wife”, identified as 26-year-old Maricela Simon Franco.
Perez-Estrada became enraged late Sunday after he discovered that Simon Franco had a boyfriend.
The couple’s argument turned physical and violent when Perez-Estrada proceeded to stab his wife multiple times in the head, neck, torso, and hands.
He also tried to decapitate the victim in front of their two children, prosecutors said.
“In this case, the sad reality is, Maricela’s life has been reduced to a statistic of domestic violence due to the alleged actions of her husband,” the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office stated.
