New York City news, New York news.

Authorities in New York City have arrested an ex-con turned activist after a dismembered body was discovered inside his Bronx apartment late Tuesday.

48-year-old Sheldon Johnson is accused of killing and mutilating 44-year-old Collin Small inside his apartment on Summit Avenue in Highbridge.

Police responded to the unit after a neighbor heard gunshots and spotted Johnson leaving and entering the apartment multiple times, carrying cleaning supplies and a black garbage bag.

Officers found a headless human torso and severed foot inside a trash bin before finding the victim’s legs, arms, and head in a freezer inside the apartment.
