Alaska boy, 11, killed; 2 others wounded after crashing into pickup while sledding

Three boys were injured, one fatally, while sledding near Deep Freeze Court in Fairbanks, Alaska Monday evening.

An 11-year-old died at the scene of a crash that unfolded when he and two friends collided with a pickup truck as they sled down a driveway into the road.

All three boys ended up pinned under the truck despite the driver’s efforts to avoid hitting them.

    The pickup’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives.

    Impairment was not involved in the tragic accident, according to Alaska State Troopers.
