13-year-old boy shot multiple times; killed in Brooklyn just blocks away from home

Authorities in New York City are investigating after a 13-year-old boy was found shot multiple times late Thursday night in Brooklyn.

The boy was suffering gunshots in the chest and arm when he was found near the corner of Brooklyn Avenue and St. Mark’s Avenue in Crown Heights at around 10:30 p.m.

The victim, later identified as Troy Gill, succumbed to his injuries at NYC Health+Hospitals/Kings County.

Police said the fatal shooting occurred just a few blocks away from the teen’s home.

    The tragic incident is one of several other deadly shootings that took place in the Crown Heights neighborhood this week.

    On Monday, a 37-year-old deli worker was shot and killed during an argument with a customer over an unpaid cigar.

    And on Wednesday, an innocent bystander was shot dead outside Ebbets Field Apartment; his family said he was caught at the wrong place at the wrong moment.
