Reynoldsburg news, Ohio news.

An Ohio mother was arrested this week after she allegedly shot her adult son at close range killing him following an altercation.

Laquandra Shantee Williams, 44, allegedly admitted to killing 21-year-old Jahaad Hughes Monday outside their Reynoldsburg residence.

Hughes was found unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds at around 1:45 p.m. He succumbed to his injuries at 3:03 p.m.

Williams reportedly told deputies at the scene that “she shot her son” and witnesses at the scene confirmed the claim.

Witnesses locked Williams outside, knowing that she was armed, as Hughes packed his bags. When he stepped out of the home “with bags in hand”, Williams “shot him at close range.”

Hughes’ sister described him as a “man of God” who loved gospel music and revealed that her mother was mentally ill.
