An elderly Georgia man has allegedly killed his wife with a hammer at the retirement community where they both lived, police said Wednesday.
81-year-old Richard Hayden was arrested on murder and aggravated assault charges over the death of his 71-year-old wife, Grace Hayden.

Investigators alleged Hayden attacked his wife with the hammer and repeatedly hit her head inside her room at the Linwood Estates Gracious Retirement Living.
Richard was brought to an area hospital to receive treatment for unrelated health issues following his arrest.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the crime are under ongoing investigation.
