A Detroit man died Friday evening days after he was mauled by a pack of three dogs on his way home.

Harold Phillips succumbed to injuries he sustained earlier this week when he was attacked by three dogs as he headed home from a nearby bus stop near the intersection of Longacre Street and W. Chicago Road.

The father suffered injuries so severe that his arm was amputated. Following the tragic incident, the three dogs were euthanized and their owner was fined $5,000.
