Waukesha news, Wisconsin news.

A Wisconsin driver fleeing from sheriff’s deputies crashed Wednesday night killing his two sons, authorities said.

A Waukesha County Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop just before midnight after spotting a speeding vehicle with no plates in Delafield.

The 29-year-old driver did not stop and kept traveling at a “high rate of speed” until deputies could no longer see the car.

Sheriff Eric Severson confirmed that the deceased boys were the driver’s sons. He added that his deputies “didn’t even have a chance to make contact with the driver.”

“The fact that two children lost their lives this morning as a result of really bad decision making is really sad to all of us,” Severson said.

“This didn’t need to happen. We struggle in our communities to make sure the roads are safe, that we’re enforcing the law. We want to do everything we can to not have these situations take place.”
