2 men drown in submerged car after falling into body of water during police pursuit

Authorities in Pennsylvania said that two men drowned inside their car after it fell off an embankment into a body of water during a police chase Wednesday morning.

The two victims refused to pull over when troopers attempted a traffic stop after receiving a report of two individuals breaking into parked cars in Antrim Township at around 1 a.m.

The tipster provided a description of the stolen car and the registration plate leading troopers to locate the suspects.

  • “Multiple attempts were made by PSP to stop the vehicle as it continued to flee,” Pennsylvania State Police said.

    As they kept fleeing from cops, the suspects left the main roadway and drove through fields. At some point, they fell off a steep embankment into a body of water.

    The suspects’ car “came to final rest” there and their bodies were later recovered from the submerged vehicles.
