A Rochester woman was charged Tuesday in connection to the starvation death of her 1-year-old son.
William Nichols died from malnourishment and dehydration before his body was found inside a closet in an apartment at 10 Manhattan Square Park on November 2.
Officers rushed to the apartment at around 5:30 p.m. over reports of an unresponsive child. William was pronounced dead at the scene.
34-year-old Passion Anderson, the boy’s mother, was arrested in the apartment.
The boy was last seen alive on July 12 but it remains unclear for how long he had been dead.
Anderson was charged with murder in the second degree with her indictment unsealed in her presence at Rochester General Hospital.
Her next court appearance was scheduled for January 4.
