A woman’s body was found in a basement trash compactor at a luxurious Manhattan condo Friday afternoon, the NYPD said.
The remains were discovered at around 2:40 p.m. in the basement of +Art, a high-class development where a two-bedroom unit was recently sold for more than $2 million.

Police said the victim had trauma to the head and body. Residents revealed that a maintenance worker made the gruesome discovery while taking out the trash.
“It’s terrible. Man, I feel awful for that person,” one said. “We asked what was going on and they just said they found a body.”
The medical examiner’s office is working to identify the victim and determine for how long the body had been there.
