A former Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s deputy was tragically killed in a train crash on Monday, officials said.
Natalie Brown-Denby, 32, retired in 2019 after a 6-year career in the sheriff’s department.

After her retirement, Brown-Denby worked at the Caddo Juvenile Probation Office. She leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter.
Former colleagues of the victim described her as a person who was always ready to help and who was always eager to learn.
Authorities did not reveal further details about the circumstances surrounding Brown-Denby’s death.
