New Orleans news, Louisiana news.

A Louisiana daycare worker was arrested this week after she was accused of burning an infant’s hand in scalding water.

Victoria Saulter, 27, was charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile after her Tuesday arrest.

The victim, a 6-month-old girl, was dropped off at the McMillian’s First Steps Child Care at around 7 a.m. on September 22.

Later that day, at around 4 p.m., the baby’s mother received a call that her child’s left had been burned.

Doctors at Children’s Hospital New Orleans determined that the second-degree burns were severe to the point it would result in scars and loss of motion for the little girl.

“The subject (Saulter) is seen removing a bottle from the bottle warmer and is then observed leaning over and placing the 6-month-old victim’s left hand into the bottle warmer twice,” investigators said.

“The victim is heard crying from the audio and (Saulter) is heard saying, ‘Good job’.”

McMillian’s officials said that following the shocking incident, they called police, child protective services, and state licensing agents.

“We’re not going to give up here. We’re going to fight to the end until full prosecution is done to this person that had worked at our facility,” they said.
