Authorities in Kansas announced Tuesday that the suspected killer of a 5-year-old girl was arrested.
The victim, identified as Zoey Felix, was brought from a Topeka gas station to a hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead.

25-year-old Mickel Cherry was identified as a suspect in Zoey’s rape and killing. Detectives said that he and the victim knew each others.
Little information was released about Zoey’s cause of death but neighbors said that she and her mother lived in instability. Their home had no running water or electricity.
“Loving girl. Love the children, all the kids play with her. They all looked out for everybody, looked out for Zoey. She was a Curious George with nowhere to go. Nowhere to go,” one said.
