A New York City man was killed in an unprovoked attack while waiting at a bus stop with a friend early Monday.
32-year-old Ryan Carson was stabbed several times in the chest at around 4 a.m. while he stood along with a pal at the B38 bus stop at Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard.
Police said that the pair were returning home from a wedding when they crossed paths with the suspect.
Witnesses said that the assailant was acting erratically before he approached the pair and asked “What are you looking at?” and stabbed Carson.
“He’s really…like the epicenter of an entire community that he created, that he brought together,” said Carson’s roommate.
“I don’t think anyone is exaggerating when they say he would give the shirt off his back. He was the guy that bent over backward time and time again to be there with his friends.”
The suspect remained at large as of Monday afternoon.
