A Phoenix man is dead after he stopped to help victims of a crash and got struck himself, his grieving father said.
34-year-old Douglas “Doug” Hunt was tragically killed at around 4 a.m. Sunday when he tried to help with a multi-car crash on Loop 202, Red Mountain in Phoenix.
“I would expect nothing less from him,” Doug’s father, John Hunt, said. “That’s who he is.”
“We’ve heard people say if he wouldn’r have stopped. He’d be alive, but people don’t know the definition of a good Samaritan. A good Samaritan is going to stop and help.”
Doug was a financial advisor who loved his family, outdoors and motorcycles. His father called him his best friend.
“In fact, I keep waiting for him to walk through the door,” John Hunt said.
