A New York City man has stabbed his wife and two young sons before taking his own life, authorities said Monday.
The father was identified as the 41-year-old superintendent of the building where the lifeless bodies of himself and his family members were discovered at around 3 p.m. Monday.
The man’s 40-year-old wife, and their one and 3-year-old sons, were found dead inside the building’s fourth-floor apartment.
Relatives of the family made the grisly discovery after not hearing from the couple since Sunday morning.
Police said that the boys’ bodies were in the living room while their mom layed dead with a cut to her neck in the hallway. The father was discovered dead on a bed with a knife near his body.
Authorities said that there were no previous reports of violence involving the family and that the father had no criminal history.
